INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIALS, WOMEN
Description
The start and finish are in the same location as the weekend road races. After 1,930 m the course turns into the Via Vignalunga, the home stretch of the 1971 road race won by Eddy Merckx.
At 3.140 km a gentle descent of 2,290 m into the village of Capolago begins. After a level section and a gentle 950 m climb, there follows a tough 650 m ascent with gradients of up to 10% at Rossa di Rancate. The athletes then ride through the villages of Rancate, Ligornetto, Stabio and Genestrerio on long straight sections with gentle climbs (5,940 m).
The section between Genestrerio and the finish is identical to the last kilometre of the road race.
